How to create a custom field in Pardot


Creating a custom field in Pardot can be a game changer for your marketing automation efforts, as it allows you to personalize your campaigns and collect valuable data. Accessing Pardot Settings

To start creating your custom field first select Pardot Settings from the primary menu.

Navigating to Object and Field Configuration

From the side menu choose Object and Field Configuration.

Selecting the Prospect Fields Tab

Now from the side menu click on the Prospect Fields tab.

Clicking the Add Custom Field Button

On the right hand side of the screen click on the blue + Add Custom Field button.

Entering Custom Field Details

You now need to enter the details for your new custom field. Enter in the name of your custom field and any relevant tags. You can keep all of the other settings set as default.

In this example we will create a custom field for different ice cream flavors that our company stocks. 

Choosing Field Input Type

You can choose how you want the data for your custom field to be submitted. For this example we will choose to have radio buttons for the type of field.

Inputting Field Values

Now enter the values for your field. You can choose to either prefill these values with existing fields using the drop down or manually enter them in.

For this example, we will create four options to choose from; Black forest, Lemon, Strawberry and Chocolate.

Finalizing and Creating Custom Field

When you are happy with the setup of your new custom field, click on the blue Create Custom Field.
