A prospect is a visitor to your website that has an email address associated with them. The most common ways that a visitor is converted into a prospect is when they complete one of the following actions:
- Submitting a Pardot form embedded on your website.
- Completing a form connected to a Pardot form handler on your website.
- Filling out a form on a dedicated landing page.
How to manually convert a visitor into a prospect
Manually converting a visitor into a prospect in Pardot is a straightforward process that can be valuable in situations where you need to add individual contacts, such as during trade shows or networking events. By following these steps, you can ensure that these potential leads are added to your database and can be nurtured through your marketing campaigns:
Accessing the Prospects Menu
First select Prospects from the top menu.
Navigating to the Visitors Section
From the side menu choose Visitors.
Identifying and Selecting the Desired Visitor
Find the visitor you want to manually convert into a prospect from the list of visitors at the bottom of the page. When you identify the correct visitor, click on the Create / associate button next to that visitor.
Associating an Email Address and Creating a Prospect
In the Email field enter the email address you want to associate with the prospect. Then click on the blue Create / associate with prospect button.
