How to create test lists in Pardot

A test list is an internal list that is sent to users within your own organization. It enables you to view marketing emails in the same way that the recipients of that mailing. 

Accessing Automations Menu

To create a test list first click on Automations from the top level menu.

Choosing Segmentation Lists

Next from the side menu choose Segmentation lists.

Adding a New List

Now click on the blue +Add List button.

Inputting List Details

Fill in your list with your usual information including the name of the list and the folder you wish to place it in. It is important to check the Email Test List box. As the message next to the box details, you can have no more than one hundred prospects on a Pardot test list.

Navigating to Pardot Settings

To add users within your organization to the test list, click on Pardot Settings in the top menu. 

Accessing User Management

From the side menu click on User Management, then under this click on Users.

Selecting Internal Users

Check the box next to the users that you want to add to your internal test list.

Utilizing Dropdown Menu

At the bottom of the list of users is a drop down menu. Select the drop down on this field.

Creating Prospect and Adding to Test List

Choose the option Create prospect and add to test list then choose the name of the test list that you want to add them to.
